Get Insights into Restock Recommendations on Merchant-Fulfilled Amazon Items
To gain access to FBM restock recommendations, navigate to the Manage All Inventory page in Seller Central, and click “preferences”. From there, ensure you have “FBM Restock recommendations” selected and click “Save changes”. Once you have this column enabled, you will receive restock recommendations for your eligible ASINs. To receive recommendations, your ASIN must meet these requirements:
- The product must have had active sales in the last three months
- Current inventory must be zero, or current days of supply must be less than 14 days
- The product must have projected demand in the next 14 days

Should Amazon Sellers Rely on Amazon's Restock Recommendations?
Amazon offers restock recommendations to both FBA and FBM sellers. Their restock recommendations are a helpful starting point—especially for newer sellers or those without robust inventory planning capabilities. However, relying solely on Amazon’s suggestions might leave you with overstocked items collecting dust – and if you’re an FBA seller, racking up long-term storage fees. On the flip side, understocking based on overly conservative estimates could mean running out of top-selling products—costing you sales and hurting your rankings.
In general, we recommend using Amazon’s data as a reference, not a rule. Smart sellers dig into their historical sales, seasonality trends, and future projections to fine-tune restock decisions and maintain the right inventory levels—maximizing profits.
Blue Wheel Helps Brands Restock Inventory Accurately
As mentioned earlier, we don’t recommend taking Amazon’s replenishment recommendations at face value. This is because Amazon’s tools typically don’t take things like overstock and avoiding their long-term storage fees into account when making recommendations. Our Inventory replenishment team here at Blue Wheel are experts at optimally predicting sell-through rates based on historical data, helping you ensure products maintain healthy inventory levels.
