Blue Wheel takes insights from clients’ other running campaigns, such as DTC support, to inform creative or audience selection. We also ensure not to target the same audiences if we run retail support on existing channels. For example, if our client is running DTC and Retail campaigns on Meta, we won’t target what’s running on DTC and vice versa to prevent overlap. With retail media, it’s as simple as using what is set up in terms of existing systems or reaching out to vendors to get an account set up on behalf of the client.

We may not have access to sales and customer journey data for retail media in the same manner as we do on Marketplace and DTC, but we evaluate engagement metrics such as thumb stop and click-through rates. This helps us determine if your audiences engage with your content and click through to your website. We track impressions and frequency to see how many people are reached and if it is a qualified reach. To identify trends, we examine sales reports over a 3-6-month period. For platforms like Instacart and Criteo, where we can track sales, we report via Command Centers.

What are our best creative practices for retail media, and how often do we switch creative?

To achieve the best results with your creative for retail media, include the retailer’s logo on your assets, place “Available at” at the end of your video or GIF, and mention the retailer in the copy.
